Seven things to do and see in Abu Dhabi as the last race of the 2025 Formula 1 season

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and sits off the mainland on an island in the Persian Gulf.

Formula 1 races at Yas Marina Circuit for 58 laps as the last race of the year where the 2025 driver’s championship will be decided between Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.

Here, Travel News Blitz’s Ayla Vaughan discusses seven things to do and see in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center is the country's largest mosque and covers an area of more than 12 hectares (30 acres), containing places of learning and discovery through its educational cultural activities and visitor programs in this white marble palace.

The library holds classic books addressing a range of Islamic subjects such as the sciences, civilisation, calligraphy, the arts and coins as well as other material in a broad range of languages.

Ferrari World

Motorsport fans must visit Ferrari World, a theme park with an iconic structure that houses numerous high-adrenaline rides such as the world’s fastest rollercoaster, state-of-the-art simulators, live shows and an inspiring treasure of racing memorabilia. 

In a refreshing, indoor and climate-controlled environment, visitors can shop at its two stores and eat at a selection of restaurants that celebrate authentic Italian culinary traditions.

The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi

The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi features 46,000 animals across 10 unique theme zones such as the National Geographic Pristine Seas Exhibition. 

It also houses the region's longest underwater tunnel and Abu Dhabi's largest indoor rainforest showing the diversity of the flora and fauna.

Watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Formula 1 visits Abu Dhabi from December 5-7 as the finale of the 2025 season at a circuit with a length of 5.281km, 16 corners, three straights and two DRS zones.

There will be a tight battle between the three top drivers to become world champion, with Verstappen fighting for his fifth title whilst the McLaren drivers are fighting for their first.

Louvre Abu Dhabi

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is an art museum and a partnership between the UAE and France, and has also been described as "France's largest cultural project abroad."

As the largest art museum in the Arabian Peninsula, artworks from around the world are showcased here with stated intent to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western art.

Etihad Towers

Etihad Towers is a complex of buildings with five towers that are a combination of hotel, residential and office spaces which all reach more than 200 metres tall.

Furthermore, there are 12 exquisite restaurants and bars offering food from around the world and a five-star hotel that has an amazing array of facilities such as the health club, swimming pool and spa.

Yas Mall

Yas Mall is the ideal destination to shop as beneath its skylight-trimmed ceiling are a host of international brands both mid-range and luxury, a food court with 24 outlets and 18 world-class dining spots both indoor and outdoor.

The mall includes a Town Centre, connecting four of its five main corridors or avenues and is characterised by an indoor courtyard surrounded by trees, restaurants, shops and a shallow pool.
