Five of the best USA World Cup 2026 host cities to visit
The 2026 World Cup is heading to North America, with the United States, Canada and Mexico all preparing to welcome the globe's football giants for ‘the greatest show on Earth’.
The US will host the majority of matches, and there is now a perfect excuse for footballing fans around the globe to cash out on a trip to one of the world's most varied and unique tourism hotspots.
Here, Travel News Blitz’s Sam Condy picks out five of the best US host cities to visit during World Cup 2026.
Los Angeles
Few cities blend sport, entertainment, and sunshine quite like Los Angeles.
Similar to New York, Los Angeles’ reputation will likely make it a tourism hotspot throughout the World Cup.
Whether you’re exploring Santa Monica, Downtown LA, or catching sunset views over the Pacific, it’s a destination built for big events.
New York City / New Jersey
With matches played in nearby New Jersey - including the World Cup Final - ‘The Big Apple’ is sure to become a hotspot for World Cup shenanigans.
Featuring many of America’s best sports bars, even without a ticket, New York will be the place to be.
Outside of the football, there is a near-endless amount of tourist attractions to keep even the biggest culture nerds entertained for weeks on end.
Central Park and Times Square are must-visit, while hidden gems such as Los Tacos No. 1 and Reyes Deli will provide perfect and incredibly well-priced snacks to stifle those pre-match nerves.

Miami
Miami is set to host some big-hitting games, with both one of the Quarter-finals and the Bronze final to be hosted at the 65,000-seater home of the Miami Dolphins.
Miami is a crazy city and will be host to some unforgettable nights of celebration.
The city’s Latin influence brings incredible colour, music, and energy to a night out, blending perfectly with a World Cup atmosphere.
There are plenty of beachfront bars to explore, while the abundance of exclusive clubs will make celebrating the big wins even sweeter.
Dallas
Perhaps not as shiny as those mentioned previously, but Dallas is not to be overlooked.
Set to host nine games during the tournament, there will be plenty of footballing action for those considering a trip to the southern city.
Off the pitch, visitors can explore Texas barbecue, live music, and a growing downtown scene that’s come on leaps and bounds in recent years.
Other options include visiting the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza to delve deep into the JFK assassination plot, a day in the Dallas Arts District, or a short trip to Six Flags over Texas for some fairground fun.
San Francisco Bay Area
Few host cities can rival the natural scenery of the Bay Area.
World Cup matches here can be paired with trips to the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and nearby wine country.
It’s a perfect choice for fans who want to spend their off days touring some of America’s most iconic landmarks.
